…Was an epic adventure. From the trip, to the camping, to the bands.

Something changed in me from the experiences I had there. It is a place of peace, love and music and it was a place of acceptance and unity. Friedrich Nietzche said, “And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.” I can assure you that we were all insane, and we were all dancing. There is something so incredibly infectious about hearing music being made by people who love so much what they do. I truly miss how much fun creating music is with friends.

We saw many a band over the 4 days of the festival, all of which were of the highest caliber of musicianship and were all having just as much, if not more, fun than the thousands of Roo-ers singing, dancing, clapping along. Some of the bands that we saw include:

Arcade Fire, Eminem, The Decemberists, Mumford and Sons, The Black Keys, The Strokes, Iron & Wine, Matt and Kim, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Bela Fleck and the (original) Flecktones, The Low Anthem, Alberta Cross, Pretty Lights, Sleigh Bells, Bassnectar, etc..

I really don’t know what else to say before I start feel like I’m gushing, but it was a memory that will live on with me for the rest of my life. A life-changing experience where as you lose yourself in the music, you find yourself in the music.

One last thing is that I want to also thank my Roo-mates for being there with me for this truly spectacular adventure.
